Steps to listen to audio lectures at various speeds

These are the recommended steps to listen to RWJMS audio lectures (MP3 files) and playing back at various speeds:
On a PC: Right click on filename
Choose Show in Windows Explorer
Right Click on File
Open with Windows Media Player (To adjust speed: click on Play then click on Play Speed)

On a MAC: open Windows (Virtual Machine) and follow instructions above for PCs
or Download Audacity(http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/) for Mac (free download)
Find location of audio file
Click File
Click Open
Select File (adjust speed with slider on right side of screen)

How To Download a File to Mac and Speed Voice the Audio

If you want to listen to lectures faster (or slower) here are the instructions:
Open http://rwjms.umdnj.edu/iTunes
Login to RWJMS iTunesU- private
Use your CORE account
Locate file (use tabs to choose course)
Click "Get File" (file downloads to iTunesU) If you know the location of the file you can proceed with next step; if not, search for file and move it to a location on your computer that you can easily find (such as your desktop)
Open Quicktime Player
Click Open file and choose the file you just downloaded
Click Ctrl + k
Adjust the playback speed with slider at the bottom of window.

How to Speed Voice on Audio Lectures

Many of you have asked how to speed up the voice on audio lectures. Here is how to do it:

To speed up Quicktime lecture files, the file must be saved. Then play the file with the Quicktime player. Open Window that shows AV Controls. At bottom of window list is "Playback speed". This enables you to speed up a lecture.
